The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID)

Eligibility:   Priority is given to low-income, least-developed countries

Location:  intergovernmental organisations such as UN agencies and international, national, regional and non-governmental organisations. Individuals, private entities and OFID Member States -Algeria, Ecuador, Gabon, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela - are not eligible to apply for assistance.

Grant Size :  Unspecified. In 2016, OFID funded to US$11.7m over 42 projects.

About the Grant

Projects that enhance livelihoods by addressing challenges in areas such as education, energy poverty, food security, public health, water supply and sanitation, which may not be directly funded through other financing windows. Projects supported include technical assistance for small-scale social schemes, research, and humanitarian aid.
