Aidsfonds

The Aidsfonds is pleased to launch a call for proposals for the Advocacy towards Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for Key Populations.

The Love Alliance aims to improve the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of sex workers, people who use drugs, LGBTQI+ people and people living with HIV in Africa. The Love Alliance works towards a significant reduction in HIV incidence by influencing policies, organising communities and raising awareness on health rights in ten countries. Love Alliance brings together organisations led by the communities which are most affected by HIV and AIDS across Africa: thought leaders (GALZ, SANPUD, Sisonke), grantmakers (UHAI EASHRI, AFE, ISDAO) and the global network of people living with HIV (GNP+).

There is insufficient funding for key populations – only 2% of global HIV funding reaches these groups. That is why this call will specifically fund advocacy by organisations and networks led by LGBTQI+ people, sex workers, people who use drugs, including people living with HIV and young key populations. They especially encourage organisations inclusive of transgender groups and working from a feminist perspective to apply.

What work can be done under this call?

  • Community-driven national advocacy for SRHR of key populations
  • Joint key population (sub) regional advocacy
  • National coordination of joint advocacy
  • Capacity Strengthening
