The Italian Cooperation Agency at Sviluppo (hereinafter “Sede AICS”) has launched the
Resilience and Social Stability: Creation of Opportunities for Temporary
Employment to Support Lebanian Municipalities to Manage Economic and Social
Consequences of Crisis.
Lebanon is currently characterized by multiple crises, the joint
action of which is causing a progressive increase in the vulnerability of the
local and refugee population. The main factors of crises include:
- the presence of a large number
of refugees from Syria;
- a severe financial crisis which
resulted in a high risk of bank sector insolvency, a exchange rate
collapse, a sovereign debt default, high inflation and severe economic
contraction;
- the health and economic
consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic the related containment measures;
and
- the consequences of the
explosions that occurred at the port of Beirut on 4 August 2020.
These crises add to the
long-term structural vulnerabilities, which they include the lack of public
infrastructure and social welfare services, inefficiencies created by the
confessional and consociative system on which the exercise of political power
is based, political and social instability, consistent and persistent migration
of highly human resources educated.
Funding Information
- The total contribution of the
AICS for all interventions carried out by non-profit entities under AID
11712 it is equal to € 415,000.00.
- The total contribution of the
AICS for all interventions carried out by non-profit entities under AID
10363 it is equal to € 900,000.00.
- Maximum duration of the project
activities: 8 (eight) months
Location of
Intervention
- The project proposals presented
in the context of AID 11712 must concern exclusively the Governorate of
North Lebanon.
- The project proposals presented
under AID 10363 must concern exclusively the Governorates of Beirut and
Mount Lebanon. The municipalities of Beirut, Bourj Hammoud and Jdaidet-El
Matn-Baouchriyeh.
Eligibility Criteria
- Registration in the list
pursuant to art. 26, paragraph 3, of Law 125/2014, or, for the subjects
non-profit organizations with no operational headquarters in Italy (local
and / or international non-profit entities), partnership agreement with
one of the parties registered. The deal can be of various kinds
(affiliation, association, partnership) but it must still be, under
penalty exclusion, of a general nature, pre-existing to this Call for
Proposals (and not limited therefore to a specific action or established
only for the purposes of participation in this Call ) and must remain
valid even after the conclusion of the activities relating to the Call;
- Specific and proven experience
in humanitarian aid interventions;
- For non-profit entities without
an operational headquarters in Italy (local non-profit entities and / or
international), be established and in compliance with the legislation in
force in the country of membership and in compliance with the provisions
for non-profit entities from same legislation;
- They are not debtors to the
MAECI DGCS and / or AICS or other donors, for certain, liquid debts and
due, including debt situations resulting from revocation measures grants
for projects promoted and / or entrusted;
- They have not engaged in
behavior characterized by gross negligence or bad faith in realization of
projects DGCS / MAECI, AICS, of other donors or in the exercise of theirs
activities.
