The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a limited call for proposals for financing development cooperation projects in the direction of Belarus with the aim of supporting civil society.

The call for proposals is aimed at assisting and strengthening Belarusian civil society. The activities to be carried out through the call for proposals must be aimed at:

  • support for independent media and strategic communication capabilities to increase;
  • to provide medical and / or rehabilitation assistance in post-election situations people affected by repression;
  • Belarusian students, teachers and other educators in the field of education to support programs whose studies or work have been significantly impaired at national level;
  • other projects in support of civil society, the beneficiaries of which are Belarus citizens

 

Project Goals

 

  • The aim of the project must be in line with Estonian development cooperation and humanitarian aid 2020-2023 Action 1: Contribute to global poverty sustainable development goals, focusing on developing countries promoting economic development and prosperity, in particular the development of democracy and the rule of law, the promotion of human rights and individual freedoms, support for environmentally sustainable development, and other needs of the destination country, with a cross-cutting focus on e-solutions;
  • The activities carried out will help to support and strengthen those set out in the terms of reference areas, including involving Estonian best practices and innovative solutions
  • Study visits, trainings and seminars can be considered as project activities organization and other needs-based activities in support of project objectives.

 

Funding Information

 

The total budget of the limited application round is 500,000 euros.

 

 

General Requirements

 

A project funded by a limited call for proposals from development and humanitarian aid funds must meet the following conditions:

 

  • the project is non-profit;
  • the applicant has the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for the implementation of the project;
  • the applicant has a cooperation partner in Belarus for the implementation of the project;
  • the applicant is able to carry out the activities in the event of an emergency and various restrictions lead from a distance.
